During the time that Representative Adam Driggs has represented Legislative District 11 in the Arizona House of Representatives, he has risen to become one of the most successful and respected members of the legislator. This year, Driggs received the 2010 Legislator of the Year Award from the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Rep. Adam Driggs currently serves as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, which is one of the most influential and important committees in the House of Representatives. He also serves on the Government Committee.
Adam has previously served as a member of the Commerce Committee, Ways and Means Committee, and County, Municipalities and Military Affairs Committee.
Adam serves nationally as a member of the Civil Justice Task Force of the American Legislative Exchange Council, a conservative national organization which comprises of legislators from all 50 states and private industry.
Driggs has worked very hard to serve his constituents in District 11. In 2010, he was one of a very few number of legislators who did not miss a single vote and was present every day of the session.
Driggs' principled leadership has been vital as Arizona has made tough choices during our current economic downturn. He has been actively involved in the most significant legislation in Arizona over the last four years.
During the last session, he sponsored legislation to combat the growing problem of child prostitution. The new law punishes any person who engages in child prostitution with significant mandatory jail terms, and eliminates a "John's" ability to avoid prosecution merely by claiming he didn't know the young girl was a minor.
Driggs also sponsored a bill that facilitated Arizona service men and women's ability to vote when serving overseas.
Driggs also sponsored significant Tort reform legislation which lessened high mandatory attorney's fees that are currently required in some lawsuits.
