Dear Friends in District 11:

We are in the midst of an extraordinary time in the state of Arizona, and yes, a very painful time for many.  After several years of apparent prosperity and a near doubling of the state budget over the last six years, the state has had to deal with three consecutive years of declining revenues, including our current massive budget deficit of nearly $3 billion dollars.  This presents a huge challenge for all of us, but I remain an optimist at heart.  I know that we will get out of this and there will be outstanding opportunities for growth in Arizona’s future.

There is much to do in Arizona.  I will continue to work hard to insure the best educational opportunities for our children, create a climate for business to prosper and to attract more high paying jobs, make health care more affordable and accessible, create sound public policy to reduce the high crime rate, work with federal and local law enforcement to secure our borders, and better prioritize government spending.
